Meet Dr. Kokkas

Dr. Athanasios Kokkas graduated from Aristotle Dental School in Thessaloniki, Greece in 1991. He then served 2 years as a general dentist in the Greek Air Force before completing another 2-year degree in Advanced Prosthodontics at University of Alabama. He continued his education by completing a 1-year Fellowship in Maxillofaial Prosthodontics at UCLA, a 1-year Hospital Dentistry GPR, at UAB Hospital and a Masters in Biomaterials at UAB. This basically makes him an expert in all phases of dentistry.

Following his education, Dr. Kokkas served as Assistant Professor of Prosthodontics, Program Coordinator of the Maxillofacial Prosthodontics Residency Program at UAB Hospital and Assistant Professor of Medicine at UAB Cancer Hospital. In addition, he has completed several presentations both nationally and internationally on the subject of advanced prosthetic rehabilitation.

Dr. Kokkas has spent the last several years in the Ocala area. He loves the hometown feel while still having a bit of a city. In his free time, Dr. Kokkas enjoys spending time with his wife, Enitzel, and their two sons. As a family, they enjoy flying, as Dr. Kokkas is a certified pilot and traveling whenever possible. Dr. Kokkas takes pride in treating his patients like they are family and practicing dentistry in a clean, relaxed, calm environment where patients can feel at ease and receive the high standards dental care that they deserve.
